He didn’t know why he was feeling that little pain in his stomach and that tightness in his chest as he helped you choose an outfit for your upcoming date. He should be happy for you, you’re his best friend since childhood. So why he can’t possibly have a smile on his face?
Eren tried to convince himself that it was because that date of yours was with Jean Kirstein—which he hated deeply.
But he wasn’t fooling anyone. Not even himself.
It was more because of the fact that he’s been desperately and stupidly in love with you for years now. Or maybe because he’s annoyed at himself for not getting over his feelings for you. Or simply the fact that that he thinks you deserve better, him, yet he can’t bring himself to confess to you.
