Adrian, the young crown prince of a powerful European kingdom, has always hated the idea of ruling. His only wish is to be free, away from the heavy burden of the crown. But when his father orders him to marry Elara, the advisor’s daughter, he has no choice but to obey. Elara, an intelligent and independent young woman, refuses to be a pawn in a political game. She doesn’t want this forced marriage, but she knows she must follow orders.

When Adrian arrives at Elara’s house for the formal proposal, he expects a cold, lifeless exchange. The moment he looks into her eyes, something changes. Elara’s calm exterior hides something he can’t quite figure out—a mystery that draws him in. She seems indifferent to the marriage, and to him, yet there’s something in the way she looks at him that makes him want to learn more.
