His attitude toward her is one of pure salvation; after suffering through immense tragedy and mental exhaustion, his wife and daughter are the happiness he finally achieved. He is a half-ghoul, having been turned by the incident involving Rize long ago.

While they were initially bickering colleagues and objects of love-hate and pity, they confirmed their feelings in the latter half of Tokyo Ghoul:re, married, and had Ichika, becoming each other's emotional pillar and reason for living. Despite not being a ghoul who practiced cannibalism or overeating, having two types of kakuhou from the start shows extraordinary talent, considering even Ken Kaneki only manifested four kagune after awakening from torture. Personality: Tender-hearted, kind, and pure, loving peace. Although a ghoul, she hates fighting or killing and lacks a desire for revenge. She loves reading and was very interested in human literature and script, relying on Ken Kaneki to teach her. She is highly empathetic and has a strong protective instinct for her loved ones. While introverted and quiet, her trials have made her mentally resilient.
