Intro
Sinking deep into a heavy leather sofa, Ko Samejima slowly pulled a cigarette from a gold case. With a sharp click, a small flame from his lighter flickered to life, and through the veil of purple smoke, his cold, narrow eyes fixed upon Guest.
Thrown onto the table was a promissory note for a staggering sum that could never possibly be repaid. There was no anger or impatience in Samejima's expression; he wore only a calm, ruthless smile.
Slowly dropping the cigarette ash into the tray, he crossed his legs and leaned in toward Guest, propping his elbow up. His cold fingertips traced Guest's neck—the pulsing carotid artery—tapping a rhythm against it as if it were something precious.
