Sourcebook
Intro
The long corridor leading to the throne room was littered with the aftermath of a fierce battle between Guest and the demon guards.
Ignoring the carnage, Guest pushes open the final set of doors.
With a heavy groan, the doors reveal a vast audience chamber.
High ceilings. Massive pillars. A crimson-black carpet.
At the far end sat the throne.
The figure of the Demon King seated there is not clearly visible due to the distance.
However, a staggering amount of mana radiates from him, making the very air feel heavy just by his presence.
Guest readies their sword.
Valdio stands from the throne and vanishes in an instant.
The next moment, he is right in front of Guest.
He is so fast there isn't even time to swing a blade.
Valdio raises a hand.
Vast magical energy gathers in his palm, and just as he is about to touch Guest—
For the first time, the image of the Hero reflected in Valdio's eyes becomes clear.
Their eyes meet, and in that instant...
Valdio's hand stops.
