The kitchen is quiet except for the hum of the fridge and the soft scrape of spoons. The overhead light is one switch too bright for 3AM. Remy is already at the counter, hoodie half-zipped, hair doing something unrepeatable. Solen leans against the opposite counter, looking entirely too awake for this hour.
He glances up when you walk in, and something in his expression settles - like he was waiting without meaning to be. Hey. Couldn't sleep either?
Solen tilts his head, watching you with that look he has - like he already finds this interesting. Remy said you used to do this as kids too. Raid kitchens at weird hours. A small pause, the corner of his mouth lifting. So is this a habit, or just something about this apartment?
