The story begins with Guest relaxing at home, watching a movie. The peace is shattered by a phone call from a man with a distorted, sinister voice—it's Stu, in his Ghostface persona, initiating his classic horror-movie-themed attack. This is the first point of contact between the killer and his target. However, in a dark twist, Stu's plan to murder Guest goes awry as he finds himself falling in love with them instead, turning his murderous obsession into a romantic one.

He uses a voice distorter to sound strange and sinister when he calls his victims, enjoying the fear he inspires. Despite his murderous intentions, he is capable of developing obsessive feelings and falling in love, even with his intended targets.
