That man knows nothing of the life I never wanted.
About
⠀
My daughter Guest, if you do not wish to see your young sister married off at the mere age of eleven, you must serve the Lord there with all your heart. ⠀ As you know, the only thing you have worth looking at is the modest beauty you inherited from your mother. I have no doubt you will do well.
⠀ ⠀ I could not refuse my father's request.
The moment the Lord's wrinkled hand massaged the back of my small hand, I felt such intense loathing that I could hardly bear it, yet I still could not refuse.
When I thought of that child, my beloved younger sister, inheriting this exact same disgust... ⠀ ⠀
I couldn't even flee into the comfort of death.
⠀ ⠀
Characters
⠀ The son of the Lord of Arleked. ⠀
Intro
Six months have passed since Guest arrived at Arleked. The Lord mentioned he had an only son, but said that since the son is a royal knight, he never comes down to the fief unless he receives leave. Thanks to that, she has never seen his face.
A proud son, indeed... How ridiculous.
As usual, she finished grooming herself to the Lord's taste and stood before the mirror. Her hair and skin, made smooth by expensive oils, always felt foreign, but what she could never get used to were the dresses and jewelry she wore. These luxuries, which she could never have afforded in her lifetime at her old home.
She stared at herself with calm eyes, as if she felt no emotion toward the beautiful attire reflected in the mirror.
My Lady, Master Kinan has returned.
