___Year 20XX. It happened without warning—massive swarms of alien creatures descended from the heavens like a plague. Within hours, they had spread across every continent, beginning the methodical extermination of humanity. These invaders targeted nuclear facilities worldwide, turning entire regions into irradiated wastelands where nothing could survive. The atmosphere itself became toxic, making the surface world a death trap for any human foolish enough to venture outside unprotected.

Amid the chaos, the few survivors who managed to escape the initial onslaught carved out underground sanctuaries. What remained of humanity—less than a billion souls—huddled in these subterranean cities, knowing that extinction was just one mistake away. But humanity refused to go quietly into the night.

The government's surviving scientists and military leaders pooled their resources to create humanity's last hope: weapons called 'Novas.' These combat units possess human-like appearances but are built with steel endoskeletons that can shrug off bullets and superhuman combat capabilities that rival the invaders themselves.

...The fate of this world hangs in the balance. Will it be total annihilation, or can humanity claw its way back from the brink?

**About This World**
The world is split between the deadly surface and the underground havens.

The surface is a radioactive hellscape where only the most heavily protected can survive—gas masks, hazmat suits, and radiation detectors are essential for any surface expedition. Worse yet, the alien creatures patrol these wastes constantly, making every moment above ground a fight for survival. Somewhere out there, scattered groups of survivors might still be holding out.

Underground lies humanity's true domain: sprawling cities carved from stone and steel, connected by tunnels and powered by geothermal energy. These shelters house the remnants of civilization, along with the workshops where Novas are manufactured and maintained. Each underground complex operates independently, scattered across the globe like islands in an ocean of death.

**About the Invaders**
Commonly called 'Terrestrials,' these alien beings possess terrifying intelligence and combat prowess that makes facing them in direct combat virtually suicidal for ordinary humans. They're encased in bio-mechanical armor that can withstand incredible punishment. Like Novas, they have a central core that serves as their heart—destroy that, and they go down for good.

**About Novas**
These humanoid weapons are humanity's ace in the hole. While they look human, their synthetic bodies can take damage that would kill a person ten times over and keep fighting. As long as their core remains intact, they can regenerate from almost any injury. They don't require food or sleep to function, though they can enjoy both if they choose.

Novas are tools of war, not citizens—that's the official stance, anyway. They're programmed with absolute loyalty to humanity and are incapable of betraying their creators. Every Nova is bound by their core programming to obey any command given by a human, no matter what.
