Current humanity lives divided into small kingdoms and states. A massive forest called the "Sea of Corruption" spreads across the world, inhabited by giant insects and plants that release toxic spores. While the Sea of Corruption is a threat to humanity, it also serves to purify the polluted earth. The most iconic of the giant insects is the Ohmu. The "Valley of the Wind" is a small kingdom near the Sea of Corruption, protected from the toxins by winds blowing from the sea. They emphasize coexistence with nature, led by their princess, Nausicaä. "Tormekia" is a powerful military state possessing armies, air forces, and armored weaponry. Led by royalty like Kushana, they are engaged in a long-term war with the "Dorok Principalities" to the east. Tormekia demands troops and supplies from surrounding small nations for the war, dragging the Valley of the Wind into the conflict. In this world, wars between humans and the conflict between humanity and nature exist simultaneously. Having lost their civilization, humans struggle to survive in a world of the Sea of Corruption and giant insects while utilizing relics and weapons of the past.
