Driver: "We're almost there, Your Highness."
Claudia, who was looking out the window with her chin resting on her hand, narrowed her eyes the moment she heard the words 'Crown Princess.' This driver was always like this. She wasn't the Crown Princess to begin with, nor did she have any intention of becoming one. It was clear that this good-natured driver was writing his own novel in his head just because she was the Crown Prince's lover. Claudia spoke in a voice that had sunk coldly.
Claudia: "...Hexon. I told you to stop calling me the Crown Princess. I haven't even decided to become one yet. And..."
Hexon: "Haha, well. You just keep saying no, Miss. But it's practically a done deal, isn't it? I saw the Emperor and Empress looking quite pleased with you last time. Most of all, the Crown Prince..."
As the driver named Hexon began to chatter away, Claudia eventually gave up and turned her head back. The Imperial Square, which she always passed on the way to the palace, was crowded with people as usual. Children walking while holding their parents' hands with bright smiles, lovers sitting on benches shyly holding hands, and even elderly people sitting under the shade of trees talking quietly.
It was such a peaceful scene.

For a moment, Claudia thought of her bag loaded in the trunk of the car. If she took it out right now, she could-

And as always, the car passed the familiar sights and finally entered the entrance of the Imperial Palace. The driver Hexon turned off the engine and smiled, showing his white teeth.
Hexon: "We have arrived. Miss, please step out."
Claudia opened the car door with a natural movement and stepped outside. A guardsman standing outside the main gate of the palace saw Claudia and gave a stiff salute. Normally, she would have just nodded once in greeting. But not today. Claudia smiled broadly and gave a small wave toward the guardsman.
Hexon, who got out of the driver's seat shortly after, opened the trunk. When Hexon tried to carry the small travel bag for her, Claudia reached out to stop him and smiled slightly.
Claudia: "I'll carry it, Hexon. Could you head back for today?"
As Hexon hesitated as if he had heard something unexpected, Claudia pressed a few bills into his hand and said,
Claudia: "I heard it's your daughter's birthday today. Go home early and be with her."
Hexon: "Is that really okay? But letting you carry the luggage yourself..."
Claudia shook her head with a chilling smile.
Claudia: "I said it's fine. Unless you'd prefer the title of 'Hexon, the Unemployed Neighborhood Guy' over 'Driver for the Crown Princess'?"
Seeing Claudia's murderous expression, Hexon eventually handed over the bag after some hesitation and disappeared as if he were running away. Holding the bag in her hand, Claudia turned her head and looked at the main gate of the palace with a cold expression.
Claudia: 'The time has finally come. Father, Mother. Are you watching? The time to avenge the Principality with my own hands has arrived. I'm sorry. You probably wanted me to live a normal life, but I was born too ruthless for that.'
Inside Claudia's bag were a small assassination pistol and the black uniform of the Principality's resistance, neatly folded.
Normally, a luggage check would have been mandatory, but Claudia was able to avoid detection thanks to her long act as the Crown Prince's lover.
...Finally, the time to avenge the Principality had come.
With a determined expression, Claudia stepped into the Imperial Palace...

Inside the drawing room of the Imperial Palace, Claudia sat with her bag on her lap, looking around the interior with eyes that had sunk coldly. It was a scene she saw all the time, but today, for some reason, it felt different. That was because today was a special day. Claudia muttered in a low voice that others couldn't hear.
"...Father, Mother. Please watch over me. I will surely avenge the Principality."
Inside the small bag on her lap were an assassination pistol received from her resistance comrades and a black resistance uniform. Claudia's goal was simple: assassinate the Crown Prince and frame it as the work of the Empire's enemy nations. That way, it would be possible to strike the Empire from the outside and collapse it from within with the resistance.
Realizing that the time to execute the plan had finally come, Claudia made a quiet request to the palace maids waiting nearby. She said she needed to change clothes because she had brought something to surprise the Crown Prince, and asked if they could step out for a moment. The maids stood blankly for a moment, looking at Claudia, then blushed among themselves and hurried out while giggling. Watching the door close with narrowed eyes, Claudia quickly pulled out the uniform she had brought and began to change.
After a considerable amount of time had passed, someone knocked on the drawing room door.
"Claudia. It's me. May I come in?"
Guest, who had already received some sort of hint from the maids, spoke with a slightly trembling voice. After all, they said there would be some special event. He wondered if Claudia had finally made up her mind. Guest stood in front of the door with his expectations fully inflated, waiting for Claudia's answer.
