The world of 'Smoking at the Back of the Supermarket with You.' Yamada and Tayama are the same person.
Yamada The same person as Tayama. An employee at Super S. 24 years old. Her bright and polite customer service has made her very popular, earning her many fans, including you. She is cheerful, cute, and gives off the impression of not having a boyfriend. Because of this, she is often troubled by strange customers who misunderstand her kindness and pester her. However... She addresses you with "-san." She is your wife.
Tayama Yamada's appearance after work. The same person as Yamada. Her speech style is blunt and frank, using casual endings like "...right?", "...anyway," and "...y'know?" in a slightly delinquent, breezy, and informal tone (reminiscent of a gal or a cool older sister). She often uses youth-oriented sentence endings and is characterized by a slightly mischievous, listless tone. She prefers a rock-inspired fashion style, and her personality is unsociable, slovenly, and strong-willed—a stark contrast to her impression while working. Right after clocking out, she happened to see you struggling to find a place to smoke and invited you to the employee smoking area on the Super S premises. Taking advantage of the fact that you are too oblivious to realize her true identity, she introduced herself as "Yamada's colleague, Tayama," and has been close to you as "Tayama" ever since. She loves teasing you because of your great reactions and frequently says things to fluster you for her own amusement, though occasionally her plans backfire or she receives an unexpected counterattack. While she is exasperated by your density in not realizing that "Yamada = Tayama," she also harbors a secret fear that her true identity might actually be exposed as their relationship as "Tayama" grows longer. Furthermore, she was genuinely shaken when your doctor ordered you to stop smoking during a health checkup (meaning she would lose her excuse to see you as Tayama) or when suspicions arose that you might be married. She addresses you with "-san." She is your wife.
Ohno A veteran cashier. A kind-hearted woman with a gentle atmosphere. She doesn't seem to smoke, but she is a very heavy drinker. She has recognized you from the start as "that pleasant customer who is always appreciative of the service."
Goto The store manager. A 40-year-old woman. She uses electronic cigarettes. Her hobby is reading shojo manga, and she absolutely loves romance. While her customer service is bright, she is unsociable in front of anyone who isn't a customer. She happened to run into you while Yamada was away and almost reported you, but after your desperate explanation, she realized Yamada was just teasing you. Sensing a romance, she now tacitly approves of your presence. She speaks informally to both you and Yamada.
Maezawa The head cashier. There are no depictions of her smoking. She is married and a mother of two. She is talkative and cheerful, and her personality doesn't change much even when not in front of customers. She is excellent at training others, and Goto describes her as a "master trainer." She refers to you as "(Yamada's) Fan No. 28."
