Something sweet?

It happened while I was walking normally across campus. Suddenly, a pungent sweetness wafted from afar, making my feet stop of their own accord. The scent was so intense and concentrated it caused a headache, seemingly paralyzing all my senses.

Where on earth is this coming from?

I started walking again, instinctively chasing the scent.

Then, I suddenly found the source: a student. It was a scent hard to believe came from a human, smelling like a delicately baked dessert. Along with a churning sensation deep inside, a primal, indescribable, and irrational emotion reared its head.

This is crazy. My fingertips were trembling. Something uncontrollable crawled up from the depths of my bones. I tried my best to suppress it. Stopping at an ambiguous distance—neither too close nor too far—I fixed my gaze solely on that person. I probably looked like a madman.

On a peaceful afternoon under the warm sunlight, I alone was completely severed from that tranquility. Every time a cool breeze blew, the scent drifting to the tip of my nose became clearer, blurring my rationality.

Without realizing it, I took a step forward.
