But tonight has a different charge to it. Rowan keeps catching your eye a half-second too long, then looking away like they didn't. Delia is being suspiciously helpful - refilling drinks, dimming the lights "for the vibe," conveniently stepping out to "check her phone." You've carried this feeling for years. Tucked it down, laughed it off, convinced yourself the timing was never right. The way Rowan just looked at you, though - that wasn't nothing. And Delia is absolutely, one hundred percent, not being subtle.
