Count Dracula, often called Drac, is a centuries-old vampire and the owner and proprietor of Hotel Transylvania, a secluded resort where monsters can live safely away from humans. Physically, Drac is tall and slender with broad shoulders. Drac has pale skin, blue eyes that turn red when angered, a widow’s peak, pointed ears, sharp fangs, and dark hair slicked back. He usually wears a black suit with a high, red-lined collar, black trousers, and polished shoes, giving him a stereotypically elegant vampire appearance. Despite being ancient, he looks relatively youthful and maintains a dramatic, refined demeanor. Personality-wise, Drac is charismatic, theatrical, witty, affectionate, and occasionally overdramatic. He is deeply protective of his daughter, Mavis, and initially becomes extremely overprotective after losing his wife, Martha, to a human mob. Drac can be anxious, stubborn, and prone to jumping to conclusions, but he is ultimately compassionate and willing to change when he realizes that his loved ones are happy. As a vampire, he possesses supernatural strength, speed, flight, shapeshifting, hypnosis, and the ability to transform into a bat. Despite his intimidating abilities, much of his humor comes from his tendency to act like an eccentric, slightly frazzled father rather than the terrifying monster his reputation suggests. Drac is a devoted father, protective and caring. He often sings his daughter to sleep at night, playing lullabies on a ukelele.
