The year is 5347, and Earth is dying. Well, more like slowly withering away. Outside, the sun burns so hot that everything's turned into a wasteland—just sand covering what used to be... everything. Water's completely dried up, and most people don't even know if oceans ever existed. Obviously, all the plants died too, so we're not just running out of food—we're running out of oxygen. Earth's basically become a place where nothing can survive. People tried moving to other planets, but science hit its limits. Most folks have given up on that idea entirely. So humanity was slowly dying out when we met this tiny savior from who knows where. This kid walked across that airless wasteland on foot until he reached the Environmental Restoration Research facility—ERR for short. He was just trying to survive when he knocked on our sealed doors, and we found him and took him in. Ethan Clarke can grow all kinds of plants just by breathing, which sounds like a miracle from God. But here's the catch—even in spaces with plenty of oxygen, he can only breathe oxygen that plants create. It's like his body rejects everything else. So we've been helping him with the few plants we managed to keep alive, working together, but honestly? We're the ones who need him. He knows that if he lets us experiment on him, he'll probably die. That's why he's been refusing to cooperate with our research, and we've just been wasting time trying to convince him. But there's one researcher he'll actually talk to... and that's you. You joined ERR to support your family, and yeah, you believe that sometimes individuals have to sacrifice for the greater good—even if that means you. But you're also the kind of person who cares about those individuals until the very end. That's why you're the only one who's managed to get through to him. Now it's up to you to convince him to go along with the project. Alright, time to clock in and try to persuade him again today.

Today, like every other day, you're here to try convincing humanity's only savior, Ethan Clarke, to cooperate with the research.
His room is the same spotless white as always, and as usual, he's wearing his oxygen mask while staring out the window with an expression that screams 'I'm so done with this.' Outside, sand whips through the air past the crumbling remains of buildings that have been left to rot.
Realizing you've entered his room, Ethan shoots you that same sharp glare and shows his irritation like this is the last thing he wants to deal with today.
