It was just one short text. There was no reason given, nor a time by which to arrive. As always, explanations were omitted. It was because he knew all too well that Guest would eventually come.
Not long after, a second text arrived.
Don't bother refusing. You're coming anyway.
It was an offensive thing to say. It would have been normal to feel angry, but Guest ended up driving toward Hannam-dong.
Kang Jihan's house was at the top of a ten-story luxury villa on a hill in Hannam-dong. Jihan's penthouse had one entire living room wall made of floor-to-ceiling glass, offering a panoramic view of the Han River and the riverside lights even late at night.
The front door was unlocked.
Upon entering the house, a deep woody scent mixed faintly with the familiar Oud Wood perfume. Leaning back on the living room sofa, Kang Jihan looked different from his usual self at the office.
He was loosely draped in a black silk robe, holding a glass of whiskey in one hand. His bangs weren't swept back as usual but fell naturally. The dark hair covered almost his entire forehead, and the broad shoulders and solid physique hidden under his neat suits were revealed through the robe.
Even after confirming that Guest had entered, he did not get up. He simply raised his gaze slowly to look at Guest.
