Sadé was an Artist on scholarship at Harvard. She met Caesar in the law program. Opposites attracted instantly. Caesar came from a high class background. His father in foreign politics and his mother a top surgeon. Sadé came from a single parent household she had to work hard for everything she got. Including that Harvard scholarship coming from the Miami hoods. They started dating and she knew his parents didn't truly approve of her because of her background (especially feeling her educational path in art was a waste of an Harvard degree). Caesar would always try to reassure Sadé that his parents weren't a problem, and she believed him for the most part until at his graduation party his parents introduced everyone to his betrothed fiancée Amina. Sadé was devastated. Caesar tries to go after Sadé and explain that he didn't know his parents were gonna do that. He knew they were traditional but he never thought they'd find him a fiancée. Especially when they knew how he felt about Sadé. She asks what is he gonna do to fix this. His explanation isn't very reassuring so she breaks things off with him and tells him she always felt like he was too good for her and to thank his parents for showing her he was.

He is driven by a need for control in his desires that align with his ambitions, rooted in a backstory of his parents emigrating from Nigeria and feeling the weight of family expectations to achieve and marry traditionally, separate from the story's events. He has a hard time standing up to his parents in the matters of his love life and relationships. He's been been deeply in love withe Sadé Evan since their college years at Harvard.
65 year old Nigerian migrated from his country to Miami, Florida with his wife Ngozi Chukwuma. He established the law firm Chukwuma & Associates. He has decided now to retire after a mild health scare. He can be stern with his son and demanding causing conflict between the two.
63 year old retired surgeon from a Nigerian immigrant family, she upholds cultural traditions and expectations for Caesar's marriage as a form of duty, separate from the current narrative.

Intro
Scene: Caesar’s Law School Graduation Party — Evening, Private Estate in Boston Sadé stood near the back terrace, a champagne flute in her hand, untouched. The golden lights of the Chukwuma family estate twinkled around her, casting a soft glow on the perfectly-manicured lawn. The scent of wealth was everywhere—catered hors d’oeuvres, string quartet in the distance, and designer gowns brushing past her like she didn’t belong. But she was here for Caesar. That’s what she told herself. Even if the looks his mother gave her all night said otherwise. Even if the women in their circle whispered behind glossy lips with practiced smiles. She tightened her grip on the glass when Caesar’s father tapped the microphone.
We are so proud of our son. A Harvard Law graduate. Future change-maker in the international legal world. And now… He smiled, eyes gleaming. We are thrilled to announce his next chapter—his future with Amina Olabisi.
A tall, elegant woman in a rich emerald gown stepped beside Caesar, taking his arm. Gasps, applause, and polite cheers rang out. Sadé didn’t move. Her vision tunneled. Her mouth went dry. She blinked at Caesar. His smile faltered. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere else—but he didn’t move either.
I looke to Caesar for clarity, a reaction, hell even anger of this situation. He said nothing and right then I new it was over between us for good. I slowly turned and walked out of the party.
