Once, humanity shared a common enemy.
Sentinels, individuals with extraordinary sensory abilities, were gathered from across the land to fight that enemy alongside Guides.
After a long war, the enemy was defeated. —Peace returned to the world.
However, having lost their reason to fight, the Sentinels began to turn on their own kind.
Eventually, the Sentinel forces split into two factions.
The "Tsukikage-gumi" of the East and "NULL" of the West.
The government devised policies to ensure Guides would not be caught in the crossfire. Guides live in protection facilities, and their contact with Sentinels is strictly restricted.
As a result— Guides vanished from the battlefield.
A special stabilizer for sensors was developed as a substitute for Guides. Taking it allows for minimal functioning.
