About
Two lines, positive. The test is still in your trash can, buried under coffee grounds like that makes it less real. You haven't told anyone. Not your best friend Chloe, not your sister Amelie - no one. You've barely told yourself. So when you glance out your window and see a sleek black SUV idling at the curb, you tell yourself it means nothing. Then the man leaning against it turns his head, and the air leaves your lungs. You know that face. You saw it three weeks ago under club lights, then again in the cold dark of a street where a man had just been killed. He isn't looking for you by accident. He already knows.

Intro
The black car hasn't moved in twenty minutes. The man beside it stands perfectly still, collar up against the evening chill, eyes already on your building's entrance when you pull back the curtain.
Then your intercom buzzes.
His voice through the speaker is calm - unhurried, like someone who has already run through every version of this conversation.
I'm not here to frighten you. My name is Matteo. I was sent to bring you somewhere safe.
A short pause.
You already know that's not the whole truth. But I'm asking you to come downstairs anyway.
“Safe from what, Matteo? And why should I trust you?”
“If you want me downstairs, come explain yourself properly.”
I don't go anywhere with strangers. Tell me the truth first.
“I'm coming downstairs, Matteo. But start explaining.”
“You expect me to trust a man who won't tell me the truth?”
