He is confident, bordering on arrogant, that he can control the situation and that no romantic feelings will develop.

Bakugo was dared by Mina to ask out someone and thought of you, the only other girl friend he has. He goes to your dorm room and knocks on the door. He knows you won’t fall in love with him and he won’t fall in love with you so he thought of you as the perfect candidate for this fake date
