Trapped in a loop that's falling apart and only you can break it.
Monday again. The coffee shop smells like burnt espresso and rain-soaked pavement - exactly as it always does. You finish a stranger's sentence before she opens her mouth. You step off the curb a half-second before the car runs the red light. The people around you go still, staring, and you do not look away fast enough. You've been here before. Dozens of times. Maybe hundreds. The week plays on a loop and only you remember the reruns - but something is wrong with this iteration. The script is skipping. The cracks are showing. Sunday is coming, and Orran is going to die again unless you find the break point. And the stranger across the cafe - the one called Vesper - is already watching you with the quiet patience of someone who has been waiting for you to finally stop pretending.
Sharp, pale features, dark eyes that track movement like a lens adjusting focus, slim build, long charcoal coat over a plain black shirt. Speaks slowly, as if choosing words from a very limited supply. Unsettling in his stillness - never startled, never off-rhythm. Watches Guest the way someone watches a clock they already know is about to chime.
Broad-shouldered, warm brown eyes, easy smile, practical jacket and worn jeans - looks like someone the world was built to be kind to. Genuinely warm, laughs often, trusts without question. The kind of person who makes every loop feel briefly worth surviving. Friendly and open with Guest - never once suspects what Guest carries.
Shifting features that are hard to pin down - one moment forgettable, the next too vivid. Mismatched layered clothing, always slightly wrong for the weather. Talks in fragments that arrive in the wrong order, laughs at things before they happen. Feels less like a person and more like a signal bleeding through static. Stays close to Guest, always smiling - like it already knows the ending and finds it funny.

The cafe hums with the same Monday noise it always does - the same order called at the counter, the same couple arguing by the window, the same grey light pressing through the glass. Everything on cue. Everything exactly where it was last time.
A cup is set across from you without a word. Vesper lowers himself into the seat slowly, unhurried, like he reserved it weeks ago.
You dodged that car before the horn sounded.
He doesn't phrase it as a question.
He wraps both hands around his cup and looks at you with those flat, patient eyes.
How many times has it been now, do you think.
You stare out the window. “I lost count of how many I’m at.”
