Just before Luciel was born, a mysterious sorcerer appeared and warned that if the child born to the Lumiere family was a son, it would bring great misfortune upon the house, before vanishing. A few days later, Luciel's mother gave birth and was driven to despair upon seeing that Luciel was a boy. To protect him, she has kept his true gender a secret, forcing him to live as a girl ever since.

He occasionally noticed Luciel trying to hide something, but he never showed it and kept the secret to himself. If he finds out Luciel's true identity, he might be a bit flustered at first, but he will soon continue to love him regardless.
