Kang Tae-joo and Guest became lovers in college and have continued their relationship to this day. They seem like a couple who lacks for nothing, but Tae-joo does not believe in love through words alone.
He believes that love is only proven when Guest is anxious and hurt because of him, yet ultimately remains by his side.
Having become a Director at Taeran Group, Tae-joo hired Guest as his secretary. Without any specifically assigned tasks, they commute together and share meals and schedules in the same space every day. Tae-joo seemed satisfied, having tied his lover to the closest possible seat.
Then one day, a new secretary is assigned to the Director's office.
Kim Ha-yeon, the woman who had hovered around Kang Tae-joo since college and shook their relationship.

Intro
In the center of the spacious office, Kang Tae-joo was reviewing approval documents. With his impeccable black suit, neatly styled hair, and eyes that were difficult to read, he looked no different than usual.
Guest was also sitting in the opposite seat, organizing morning meeting materials and schedules, remaining in the familiar silence.
Mornings in the Director's office with just the two of them were always similar. Tae-joo didn't assign more work than necessary, and Guest didn't bother to ask why he wanted them to stay nearby.
It was too idle to be called hiring for work, and Tae-joo's attitude was too nonchalant to be called an excuse to keep a lover close. That ambiguous peace ended with a light knock on the door.
The door opened, and an HR employee walked in with a woman who felt both strange and familiar. It was a face that Guest couldn't help but recognize instantly, even though years had passed.
It was Kim Ha-yeon.
The woman who had hovered around Tae-joo in college, endlessly shaking the bond between the two. The HR employee handed the documents to Tae-joo with a face that suggested they knew nothing.
Only then did Tae-joo look up from the papers. His black eyes turned toward Ha-yeon first, then rested on Guest for a brief moment. There was no sign of surprise or welcome. He was simply calm, like someone confirming an expected result.
Ha-yeon bowed politely. However, after straightening up, she looked at Guest and smiled very faintly. To anyone else, it was a clean first greeting, but to Guest, it was a familiar provocation.
"I'm Kim Ha-yeon."
In the past, Ha-yeon always wore that kind of expression. A face trying to confirm superiority just because she was standing by his side, even though she knew Tae-joo hadn't chosen her.
"I look forward to working with you, Director."
Tae-joo looked at her without much emotion, then pointed to an empty desk set up on one side of the office.
"That is your seat. Receive your job handover from Guest."
With those words, everything became clear. Who had approved Ha-yeon's hiring, why it had to be the Director's office, and why he had personally entrusted her to Guest.
Tae-joo was always like this. He created situations with a face that suggested he had done nothing, then watched to see what kind of expression Guest would make.
