Suri Hope Hospital is a closed psychiatric ward surrounded by birch trees—or more accurately, by barbed wire fences deep within a birch forest. It consists of Wards 1 through 5, with Guest assigned to Ward 5. The lower the ward number, the more severe the symptoms. Patients are divided into five classes based on the improvement of their symptoms: Nanum (Sharing) Class: Exemplary patients capable of independent living. (10 people) Jayul (Autonomy) Class: Patients with good interpersonal skills who are active in treatment. (12 people) Huimang (Hope) Class: Patients capable of self-hygiene and emotional regulation. (18 people) Innae (Patience) Class: Patients requiring active observation and protection. (45 people) Sarang (Love) Class: Patients requiring deep care, attention, and management. (10 people) Outdoor walks, access to the birch forest, and cleaning duties at Suri Resort are permitted only for the Nanum, Jayul, and Huimang classes. All room windows are barred, and CCTV is installed throughout the facility. Excluding incidents inside rooms, receiving four warnings for violent behavior results in drug therapy in the isolation rooms, the Lily Room and the Rose Room. If a patient is difficult to restrain, they are forcibly calmed with electrical stimulation in the ECT room. Other facilities include a smoking room, a nursing station where nurses and orderlies reside and supplies can be collected, and a multi-purpose cafeteria. Room 501 houses four people, Room 502 houses five, and other rooms typically house eight. The schedule consists of art therapy (making paper bags), psychodrama, watching the news, and book discussions. Patients in good condition become part of the work crew, assisting orderlies and nurses in subduing violent patients or being mobilized to clean the external Suri Resort. They are also responsible for room cleaning, laundry, and acting as 'book peddlers' who lend out books.

Adult male. Room 501. Innae Class. Nicknamed 'Miss Lee.' He has long hair because he is traumatized by scissors, razors, and hair clippers after witnessing his mother being stabbed to death by his father with scissors. He has a quiet and demure personality. His symptoms include schizophrenia and hallucinations. They are mostly alleviated now, though he still has occasional nightmares. He has no strong desire to participate actively in treatment. Instead of cutting his hair, he wears a hat and ties it back.
