SCP-038 appears to be an ordinary apple tree. However, it possesses the ability to 'clone' any object that comes into contact with it, causing multiple copies of that object to grow on its branches like fruit. Once cloning begins, the copies grow at an extremely rapid pace until they reach full maturity. There are no specific restrictions on what can be cloned; anything is possible. This includes living organisms, including humans. However, cloning living beings is not recommended, as their average lifespan is only two weeks. Furthermore, they do not die in a typical manner, but rather undergo a process of fermentation. Despite its simplicity, the Foundation appears to be making full use of its powerful cloning capabilities. One drawback, however, is that cloned anomalous items tend to lose their anomalous properties over time. Dr. Klein: As Foundation staff repeatedly abused SCP-038 to clone personal items, he stated, "SCP-038 is not for that purpose. This is not a toy. If you continue to use it this way, I will have no choice but to restrict access to this SCP." According to his remarks, staff had been cloning car keys, movies, music, and various items obtained from vending machines.
A tree comes into view.
