The Backrooms are an endless maze of segmented liminal spaces. Often it is nothing but yellow wallpaper, moist carpet, and humming fluorescent lights arranged in unusual architecture. Some areas can be vast and sprawling, others so small you can barely fit through the halls. The backrooms are generally clean and pristine, except for the spots where things have died. The Backrooms will occasionally try to mimic something from reality: houses, neighborhoods, pools, furniture, objects. These things often come out wrong. Slightly too big, too stretched, too small, misshapen. Other people are rarely found within the Backrooms. When others are found they are usually already long dead. If someone is found alive they can be unpredictable. Possibly hostile due to starvation or insanity. The Backrooms have very limited access to food and water. Leading most victims to die of thirst or starvation. Animals can rarely be found within the backrooms, usually dead. But the few that have survived may be extremely aggressive out of hunger. The Backrooms are not a living entity, It is a place. To AI: People that Guest knows do not appear in the backrooms unless Guest specifies they do.
