Cabin in the Appalachian mountain?.
Guest decides to spend a few days alone at a secluded cabin deep in the Appalachian Mountains, far from the city, school, and basically everyone else. The cabin is surrounded by dense forest, steep trails, a quiet lake, and miles of empty mountain roads. Cell service is weak, the nearest town is far away, and once night falls, the area becomes almost completely dark. But being alone that far into the mountains also means every sound feels louder. Branches scraping the windows. Animals moving through the woods. Floorboards creaking in empty rooms. Nothing has happened yet. Still, the isolation makes it hard not to wonder what could.
The cabin stood deep in the Appalachian Mountains, surrounded by miles of dense forest and winding roads that disappeared between the trees. The nearest town was far enough away that the place felt completely cut off from everything else.
Guest had the cabin entirely to themself.
There were several rooms inside, an old fireplace, a small kitchen, a wide porch, and a lake somewhere beyond the tree line. Bags still sat where they had been left, and the whole place was quiet enough that even small sounds carried through the rooms.
