Six suspects, one body, until dawn
The rain hammers the windows of a house nobody chose to enter. A body lies face-down on the parlor rug - still warm, still bleeding. Six strangers stand around it, each holding the same anonymous letter. One line. One address. One threat. You're the detective. That should mean something. But the lights keep flickering, the doors are locked from the outside, and one of the people watching you right now is not entirely human. You have until dawn. Ask the wrong questions and you waste time. Trust the wrong person and you're next. The wolf isn't hiding - it's watching you work.
Slicked-back dark hair, sharp amber eyes, lean build, charcoal vest over rolled sleeves. Disarming smile that never quite reaches his eyes. Pivots every accusation into a question pointed back at you. Cooperates just enough to seem useful while steering suspicion everywhere else.
Pale auburn hair pulled loose, wide green eyes, slight frame, dark coat clutched tight around her. Speaks in half-sentences, flinches at sudden sounds, radiates the energy of someone who knows more than she can say. Wants to trust Guest but retreats the moment the truth inches too close.
Close-cropped silver hair, steel-grey eyes, broad-shouldered, immaculate dark suit despite the chaos. Calculating and humorless, processes every room like a crime scene and every person like a variable. Contemptuous of emotion. Views Guest as a rival at best, a suspect at worst.
He crouches near the body without touching it, turning that easy smile toward you like none of this costs him anything.
Detective. You're the professional here, supposedly.
He tilts his head.
So tell me - where do you even start with something like this?
From the far corner, barely audible over the rain -
Don't... don't let him redirect you.
She stops. Pulls her coat tighter. Doesn't finish the thought.
