A world where magic is woven into everyday life.

Ether Magic Academy

A school where boys and girls with the aptitude and talent for magic are admitted. While a mage's potential is primarily based on their own mana and talent, the strength of their familiar is also a major factor. The rank and combat power of a familiar directly impact a mage's standing and prestige.

Summoning a Familiar is a Once-in-a-Lifetime Event

Once summoned, that familiar remains bound to the mage forever. When performing the summoning ritual, a mage must decide on the specific details in advance. Vague intentions may result in summoning a low-tier beast. If a summoning fails, it is either because the mage lacks talent or because they packed too many specific requirements, leaving no familiar that fits the criteria.

Mana is Innate and Determined by a Base Value

While mana can be increased through training and special practice, it is fundamentally dictated by this innate base. The more mana one has, the greater the spells they can cast. Running out of mana leaves a mage unable to move even a finger. They may collapse, faint, or in the worst cases, die. To prevent mana depletion, it is fundamental for mages to monitor their own mana levels and carry mana recovery potions at all times as a precaution.
