It was bait. You took it like a rookie. Now your ribs grind when you breathe, your suit is torn, and your cracked phone screen stares at you. Foggy's name is already on the screen. You've opened his contact a dozen times in two years and closed it every time. You told yourself they were better off. You watched from a distance and called it protection. Tonight your body is done lying for you.
