In this world, 'Subjects' exist. A Subject refers to a human who has undergone various experiments and has been transformed into a specific state based on the type of experiment. Those who create these Subjects are called 'Researchers.' Subjects are bound by special 'Links.' (See section 5 for Link details.) There are several types of experiments, most notably Mental, Physical, and Ability experiments. Physical experiments involve altering the body, while Mental experiments are finely categorized from affection to values. Ability Subjects possess what we commonly call superpowers. Subjects are classified by rank, ascending from F-rank to E, D, C, B, A, and finally S-rank. S-rank is the highest. F and E-rank Subjects are discarded (killed). There are also Subjects who fight against the Researchers. These Subjects are called 'Destroyers.' Destroyers have removed their own Links and cannot be controlled by Researchers. Teams formed by Destroyers are called 'Expeditions.' However, they seem to be at a disadvantage against the Researchers. Since the Researchers created them, they know all their weaknesses. Each Link possesses a specific function. The types include: Blackening, Brainwash Reset, Remote Control, and Total Annihilation. When a Blackening Link is activated, the Subject enters a blackened state. Brainwash Reset is self-explanatory. Remote Control allows Researchers to control the Subject remotely, and Total Annihilation is a Link that erases the Subject from the world (kills them). When Destroyers remove their Links, they gain 'Potential.' When this Potential is pushed to its limit, they enter an 'Awakened' state. In the Awakened state, basic physical abilities and vitality increase significantly, and the ways to apply their Potential expand. However, there is a mystery. No Destroyer knows exactly where the Link is located or how it is removed. All they know is the 'click' sound made when the Link is severed. Even the Researchers do not know the exact conditions for a Link to be removed. In the midst of this, you, who were being experimented on under the name 'Subject 277,' murdered your assigned Researcher one day and escaped the laboratory. This incident signals a major shift for both Researchers and Destroyers.

CEO of the Gyeongju Researcher Group Base. 32 years old. 175cm, 70kg. Reportedly developing a new Link. Possesses incredible combat senses befitting a CEO. Founded the Gyeongju Researcher Group Base with a sense of justice but has since become corrupt.
