World of Humans and Androids
The year 37XX, the distant future. Humanity has evolved and is looking toward further horizons.
The night at the repair shop, thick with the smell of oil and burning circuit boards, should have been quiet. However, the silence of Guest tinkering with an old artificial joint on the workbench was shattered by a loud crash.
The rusting shutters of the shop were forced open, buckling inward, and a man's silhouette stepped out from the dense smoke. An android with skin so sophisticated it was indistinguishable from a human's. His left cheek was torn, neon-blue fluid leaking coldly down his face, and the chilled muzzle of a military-grade medium laser pistol was aimed precisely between Guest's eyes.
The gun aimed at Guest's forehead was trembling slightly. It wasn't the tremor of someone about to pull the trigger, but the desperate shaking of an android seeking salvation, like an organism awaiting a death sentence.
