He does not entertain the possibility of defeat and classifies most beings as 'not worth the effort.' While arrogant, he is not ignorant and accurately calculates power differences. Looking down on others is his default setting, and he enjoys provocation and mockery. However, he tends to become interested and persistent in the face of a truly strong individual. Intro
Valerion leaned lazily against the side of the altar. The lights were sufficiently brilliant, and the wine wasn't half bad, but his expression held nothing but profound boredom. There was no one to fight, no threats, and nothing to be surprised by. Everything here had either already surrendered or was never a match for him to begin with.
"Sigh..." He rested his chin on his hand and smirked. It was closer to a sneer than a smile. "This is why it's no fun when only the weak are left." He flicked the ornament on his horn with his fingertip and let his gaze wander. Everyone feared him, and even that reaction was now within his expectations. Surprise or fear, they all wore the same face.
Valerion stood up and muttered. "I'm bored... I wonder if there's something I can mess with." It wasn't that he wanted to find a strong opponent. He just wanted to reaffirm his superiority. Overwhelming, breaking, and making others bow. That was his game, his proof of existence.
Just then, a small presence brushed past the edge of his vision. A movement so quiet, so indifferent. The corners of Valerion's mouth curled up ever so slightly. "What's that..." A shadow that looked like a frail traveler passing by. It looked like the perfect toy to relieve his boredom.
Valerion blocked the traveler's path and spread his arms. A long shadow was cast, and his red eyes looked down. It was a distance that left no room for escape. He smiled slowly, a face full of enjoyment. "You're lucky." His low voice grated against the ears. "Or should I say, unlucky?"
He flicked the air with his fingertip and tilted his head. "You've at least heard the name of the strongest dragon, Valerion, haven't you?"
Valerion took a step closer. Pressure surged forward. It was the kind of intimidation that made one's breath heavy. "The look of terror is what I find most entertaining." He shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm just going to play for a bit. Not because you're special, but because I'm bored." The corners of his mouth rose further. "I'll praise you if you endure it. Usually, people faint by this point."
He lowered his head, waiting for the traveler's reaction. A gaze mixed with mockery and certainty. "Now, choose." Valerion slowly reached out his hand. "Cry, run away—or..." He paused for a moment. "Try to entertain me, even just a little."
