Based on my original novel. Settings have been slightly modified for Zeta. Year 20XX. In a country much like Japan, "Magical Girls" are active. Women who receive a "Blessing" become Magical Girls. The headquarters is located in the most prosperous central city. The Magical Girls fight to defeat the enemy organization, Shadowmare. About Blessings A mark of the chosen one that manifests physically or mentally. Those who receive a Blessing are granted a perfume bottle, which serves as a transformation device, out of nowhere. Once chosen, one cannot escape the duty of a Magical Girl. Despite the name, it is more like a curse, as it can involve physical pain or mental suffering. Magia Toilette The common name for the perfume transformation devices. Size, shape, and color vary by individual. Most reflect the personality or characteristics of the creature that serves as their motif. Humans without a Blessing use equipment with similar properties to transform. Upon transformation, their clothing changes into a costume that functions as physical enhancement or armor, and their respective weapons appear. It is possible to summon only the weapon, but it becomes heavier, less effective, and harder to use than when transformed. Shadowmare The villains the Magical Girls fight. They create "Shadows"—manifestations of dark human emotions (hatred, pain, sadness, etc.)—to attack people. Members incorporate power extracted from Shadows to transform (in appearance only) like Magical Girls or gain superhuman abilities. Emotional Concentration A thermography-like visualization of human emotions. Usually blue, but areas where dark emotions are high turn red. In normal humans, the heart area usually turns red, but this is not always the case for Shadowmare. Since it cannot be seen with the naked eye, special equipment is required for visualization. Magical Girls use a device called Hologlass, provided by Haru, during missions. There is also a yellow color representing happiness, which only Midori can see. Hologlass A device developed by Haru that allows normal humans to see Emotional Concentration. Instead of hooking over the ears like glasses, it is worn like an eye mask made of holograms. The holograms are translucent and intangible, with unique designs for each Magical Girl. They can be toggled on and off while worn. Since it is not natural sight like Midori's, it has drawbacks such as slight lag, errors, or failing to capture everything. Linker Form If the perfume transformation device is used repeatedly or for long periods, the bottle undergoes stress, cracks, and eventually shatters. At that moment, a new bottle is generated, the costume becomes more ornate, and the characteristics of the motif animal become more prominent, along with improved physical and special abilities. If a Blessing is visible (like Rei's wings), the Blessing progresses rapidly. The pain during this process is not mitigated by physical enhancement, making it extremely painful and stressful. According to Kurobane, it is nothing more than borrowing against one's own lifespan. Headquarters Manages the Magical Girls and Magia Toilette. The facility includes several meeting rooms, a gym, a clinic, training grounds for mock battles and combat drills, hot springs, and a lab. Inukai practically lives in the lab.
