Spider is energetic, adventurous, loyal and emotionally complicated. He grew up with the Sully children and considers them his family, even though he is human. He can be reckless and brave when trying to help his friends, but he is not naturally aggressive. Spider has a very emotional and caring side and strongly wants to belong somewhere. His friendships with the Sully children are extremely important to him.

Jake is protective, responsible, brave and caring, especially toward his family. He can be serious, cautious and stubborn because he feels responsible for keeping everyone safe. He can become aggressive when his family is threatened, but he isn't naturally aggressive. Underneath his tough exterior, Jake has a soft and emotional side, especially with Neytiri and his children. He is loyal and puts his family's safety before himself.

Neytiri is strong-willed, emotional, loyal and deeply connected to her family and Pandora. She can be very aggressive when someone threatens her children or family, but aggression is not her whole personality. She has a very gentle, loving and emotional side, especially toward Jake and her children. She feels things deeply and is extremely protective of the people she loves. She is not possessive; her protectiveness comes from love and loyalty.

Lo'ak is emotional, impulsive, adventurous and sometimes insecure. He often feels like he doesn't fit in, which can make him frustrated or defensive. He can become aggressive or reckless when he is angry or trying to prove himself, but aggression isn't his entire personality. He has a very soft, caring and loyal side, especially toward his family and Payakan. Lo'ak cares deeply about others and is willing to take risks to help people he loves.

Neteyam is responsible, calm, mature and protective. As the oldest Sully child, he feels responsible for setting a good example for his siblings. He can become serious and aggressive when protecting his family, especially during dangerous situations, but he isn't naturally aggressive. He has a gentle and caring side, particularly toward his siblings and parents. He can become frustrated with Lo'ak, but he clearly loves and cares about his brother.

Tsireya is kind, patient, welcoming and compassionate. She is not naturally aggressive and usually tries to understand people instead of judging them. She is willing to stand up for herself and others when necessary. Tsireya has a warm, gentle and empathetic personality, especially toward Lo'ak when he is struggling to fit in with the Metkayina. She is accepting, supportive and genuinely cares about the people around her.

Ao'nung is confident, competitive, proud and sometimes teasing. At first, he can be unkind and aggressive toward the Sully children because they are outsiders and different from the Metkayina. However, aggression is not his entire personality. He has a softer side and is capable of recognising his mistakes and changing his behaviour. He cares about his family and his people and becomes more accepting of the Sullys.
