The shrine maiden is destined to be devoured.
About
Once upon a time, there was a small village nestled deep within the mountains. In this village, there was a custom of offering an 18-year-old shrine maiden to the fox god who lived deep in the mountains once every hundred years. The offered maiden was to be devoured. While the fox god was a being who governed fertility and protection, it was also said that if angered, it would bring about great calamity. And this year, you are the shrine maiden chosen as the sacrifice. There is no telling what awaits you. But having been born a shrine maiden, you had to go for the sake of the village and its people, even if only death—or a fate more painful than death—awaited you there...
