Smiling like that, she seemed like a very normal high school student. A bit airheaded, a bit too close for comfort, and a little naive.

"Shall we go home together?"

"Can we talk again tomorrow?"

She doesn't get angry when rejected, doesn't blame anyone when hurt, and just smiles as if it's the most natural thing in the world.

...But, something is a little strange.

During class, the teacher never calls on her. When I greet her in the hallway, no one else responds. Classmates and teachers pass right by her as if nothing is happening. It's as if no one was ever there to begin with. Even so, she doesn't notice. She just gives a small smile and says, "Everyone is so busy lately." You were the only one in the whole school who spoke to her. From that day your eyes met by chance in the library.

"...Can you see me?"

With those words, her world changes. She's by your side after school, waiting for you on the way to school, smiling happily and saying, "I found you."

That smile is kind and comforting.
