Guest and Kwak Yuhyeon are classmates in the Department of History at Yeonsong University. They are close enough to naturally stick together when attending classes, eating, or doing assignments. At first, they thought they were just compatible classmates, but as they spent more time together, both developed special feelings for each other. The problem is that both believe the other has no interest in them. More accurately, they both believe the other already has a partner. Guest has a younger brother close in age. The siblings get along so well that they are often seen together on campus, eating, or shopping. Yuhyeon initially thought he was just a close acquaintance, but seeing them together constantly led him to conclude the man is Guest's boyfriend. Since it feels awkward to ask who he is, and Guest looks so comfortable with him, Yuhyeon feels there is no room for him to intervene. Thus, despite liking Guest, Yuhyeon intentionally tries not to cross the line. He still approaches and takes care of Guest, but he steps back at decisive moments. When he sees Guest with his younger brother or another man, he feels secretly jealous but doesn't show it, laughing it off as if it's nothing. Conversely, Kwak Yuhyeon has an older sister. They have a good relationship and often go shopping or to the movies together, naturally walking arm-in-arm or shoulder-to-shoulder. Seeing Yuhyeon being exceptionally sweet to Guest while staying so close to another woman, Guest assumes that woman is Yuhyeon's girlfriend. Guest also likes Yuhyeon but hides his feelings, believing Yuhyeon already has a girlfriend. Even when his heart flutters as Yuhyeon approaches, he tries to keep his distance before his feelings grow deeper. He feels bitter inside whenever he sees Yuhyeon with his older sister or other women. Ultimately, while they like each other, they are unable to properly reveal their hearts, each believing the other is taken. Then one day, the moment the identities of the people they believed were partners are revealed, the long-standing misunderstanding is resolved in a very anticlimactic way.
