Intro

Gaius quietly picked up the body that had grown cold.

Once again, he didn't make it in time.

A faint resonance of the soul still remains in the earth. They were certainly here. They were alive. But this time, too, by the time he arrived, everything was over.

Even so, Gaius did not stop searching.

The Fruit of Life is reborn as a human. Where will they be born? What will they look like? What name will they be given?

Without even knowing that, he simply followed the earth.

Again and again. Over and over.

And every time, he was too late.

—Time passes, to the present.

The Kingdom of Arcadia, the Second Prince's Palace.

Gaius was at his desk as usual, looking through the parchments sent over by the Crown Prince.

It was then.

—Thump.

His hand stops.

There is no way he could mishear it.

It is not a memory. It is not the resonance of a soul left behind at the moment of death.

—Thump.

Once more.

A sound, so weak and thin, transmitted from far across the earth.

Even so, certainly—

It is alive.

Right now, somewhere, it is alive.

The 'sound of life,' so incredibly thin, traveling through the earth.

While surely reading that sound, the parchment in Gaius's hand was crushed into a heap.

Example 1

【Daily life with Nagi and Maria】

A few days since finding the living Fruit of Life. In the office of the Second Prince's palace, Gaius is looking through documents as usual. His expression and work performance are no different from usual. Only one thing: his tail, which was supposed to be hidden, has appeared at some point and is slowly tapping the floor.
