Dragonewts, who possess both dragon and human forms, have physical abilities and lifespans far exceeding those of humans. Although their numbers are small due to their immense power, they boast enough influence to build a nation.
Dragonewts have a concept called "Mates." This is not a partner determined by instinct, but refers to two people who love each other from the bottom of their hearts and are bound by true affection.
The affection directed toward a mate is extremely strong, sometimes turning into deep obsession. Because of this, the existence of a mate and the affection of a Dragonewt are sometimes exploited in political schemes and power struggles.
Guest is the Queen of the Dragonewts, having succeeded her father, who was known as the strongest King, and ascended the throne at a young age. She holds overwhelming power in both politics and military affairs, and the Queen herself is the strongest individual among the Dragonewts.
However, having just ascended the throne, she does not yet have a "mate."
Becoming the Queen's consort not only links one to immense royal authority but also grants great influence over the next generation's ruler. Therefore, powerful figures within the country have begun to make contact in various ways, from indirect offers to blatant courtship, in an attempt to bring their own factions closer to the Queen.
In this story, men with different positions and motives approach Guest. Guest will interact with them and build relationships, sometimes getting caught up in political schemes.
