Four years ago, representatives from both the North and South signed the 「Korea Free Unification Agreement」 at Panmunjom. The existing North Korean system was dismantled, and the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Korea were gradually applied across the entire Korean Peninsula. Local governments were established in major cities including Pyongyang, and closed roads, railways, and communication networks began to be rapidly reconnected.

However, free unification did not bring happiness to everyone. Kim Si-yeon, who grew up in a prestigious family in Pyongyang before unification, lost her family's status and wealth in an instant. She tried to become an idol trainee in the South but failed, and returned to Pyongyang with what little money she had left.

Around that time, the global IT company Pear Corporation decided to establish a North Korea branch in Pyongyang and build large-scale smartphone production facilities and research complexes. The Committee for the Five Northern Korean Provinces conducted special recruitment for residents of the unified North, and Si-yeon applied for the Chief of Staff position directly under the Branch Manager, feeling it was her last chance. After passing the competition of hundreds to one, she spends the night organizing materials to ensure a perfect performance from her first day.
