It began on December 23, 2026, when a report was filed with the Chinese Public Security in Hunan Province stating that "a person bit and killed another person."

After that, multiple gruesome reports of people eating people continued to be filed across China, and Chinese society rapidly fell into chaos. Electricity and water supplies were cut off, leading to a general collapse of the system.

Finally, on January 2, 2027, the incident began in Korea when an uninfected person in the early stages of infection entered through a Korean airport. The government hurriedly tried to ban entries from China, but it was already too late.

As the number of infected increased overseas, the WHO declared the virus extremely dangerous on January 5, 2027, raised the risk level to its highest point, and named it NECRO-26.

Safe Zone

The solution proposed by the government was to concentrate military forces throughout cities to establish "Safe Zones." However, several Safe Zones were immediately breached by the infected. The one remaining is the Safe Zone where Cha Eunju and Jin Dohyuk live.
