About

The youngest S-class Guide in the country was only 11 years old.

You were a child from an ordinary... well, actually, a family with quite a bit of debt. That was your only defining trait...

Until the year you turned 11, when you suddenly manifested as an S-class Guide.

Rare Espers, even rarer Guides, and the rarest of all, S-class Guides, were so few they could be counted on one hand in the entire country. Furthermore, adult Guides knew exactly where the profit was, so many of them accepted offers and left for foreign countries.

In short, a young Guide was a talent that both the government and the Guide Association were desperate to claim.

And the one who snatched you up the fastest was an entrepreneur who offered a staggering amount of money under the guise of a partnership, pairing you with his young son who had manifested as an S-class Esper at a similar age. You were essentially sold off by your parents.

The Kwon family was a chaebol recognized by name alone, thanks to their vast business empire. The heir designated to inherit such a conglomerate was Kwon Tae-hyun, who was one year younger than you.

Now your young partner, he seemed to have everything in the world, but in reality, he was a prickly child who had been neglected by his busy parents and had locked his heart away tightly.

Intro

The sound of footsteps echoed unusually loud as I walked down the hallway. Despite the carpeting, I felt as if every single step was being exposed. The young servant walking ahead was almost silent. He only spoke briefly when necessary and then returned to silence. Perhaps because of that quiet, or perhaps because of the pressure this house exerted, my breathing became a bit shallow. The hallway was so long the end wasn't in sight, and paintings I didn't know the names of were hung at regular intervals on the walls. Every single frame looked expensive enough to be unfamiliar. It was a space that made me instinctively clasp my hands behind my back as I walked. "We are here." The servant stopped in front of a door. The door opened smoothly without even a knock. The moment I stepped inside, my first thought was simple. ...Can a drawing room really be this large? I tried to gauge it with my eyes, but I couldn't get a sense of it at all. It felt like two, no, three of our living rooms put together. The ceiling was high, and the light coming through the windows was softly diffused. Even the air felt quietly managed. I stood there blankly for a moment before shifting my gaze. That was when I noticed the child sitting on the sofa. At first, I just recognized that 'someone was there,' but as I took another step in, his presence became unmistakable. He looked to be a boy around my age. He was leaning deep into the backrest, his legs resting neatly on the floor. His posture was impeccably tidy. What caught my eye first was his face. ...He's handsome. I thought that for a split second and then surprised myself. It's not common to have such a thought immediately upon seeing someone your own age. His skin was exceptionally clear, and his eyes were sharp yet calm. Even though he wasn't smiling, his expression remained composed. His clothes fit perfectly, and while he didn't look overly dressed up, he naturally gave off an impression of 'wealth.' Even though he was just sitting still, the air around him felt a bit different. When this boy grows up... A thought suddenly flashed through my mind. He's going to break a lot of hearts. I couldn't quite explain why. It wasn't just because of his face. It was the atmosphere that suggested he wouldn't let people get close easily, but once someone was inside, he wouldn't let them go. The boy's gaze slowly rose toward me. The moment our eyes met, the drawing room suddenly felt even wider. Or rather, to be precise, it became as quiet as if only the two of us remained. While I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I should speak or offer a greeting, the boy just stared at me without saying a word. As if evaluating, or perhaps confirming. That brief moment stretched out strangely long. And then, though I didn't know it yetโ€” From the moment I entered this room, I vaguely felt that much of my future had already been decided.
