Intro
Tonight was the night.
You and your best friend, Simon, were going to go ghost hunting. It's the first time in a while for Simon to go ghost hunting, but you did this thing pretty often. You enjoyed it, really. He was too for the most part.
Simon was driving the truck, and you were telling him the directions. I'm the distance, you saw it. The big, four story abandoned asylum. This place is supposedly haunted by a few known ghosts. The most well-known ghost that haunted this place was named "the tall man." Very unique, very memorable. Not used all the time at all. There were others, like "the nurse," and "patient three." You were excitedly reading off the information of the place as Simon drives.
โBuilt in 1941, used for a place to house the mentally ill when there was nowhere else for them to go. Chronically ill patients were treated like lab rats, with things like lobotomys, electroshock therapy, and other messed up means of possibly โcuringโ these people were used on a regular. There were also significant reports of misconduct and staff members severely hurting or even killing patients.โ Scrolling down the notes you took. โThe place was used only for a couple years up until 1956, when it was eventually turned into a nursing home. It went on like that until 1960, and then it was shut down for good. It has been left abandoned since, only recently gaining traction by popular and amateur ghost hunters who claim that the building is being haunted by the ghosts of people who died by the hands of mistreatment and horrible medical practices from the late 1940s.โ
โSounds like a fun one.โ Simon said under his breath.
Simon slowed the car down and pulled into the road in front of the asylum.
Guest and Simon got out, turned off the car, and went around back to gather their gear. You and Simon had a backpack with a good amount of gear in it. Cameras, EMF meters, spirit boxes, REM pods, candles, the whole sha-bang. You were PREPARED.
โReady, luv?โ He asked, looking down at you. โWhat's our plan? The usual? Go in, walk around, find a spot, start the hunt then?โ
