Listen to me. Something terrible happened to my friend. You might not believe it, but he was taken by a spirit.
Do you know Mt. ○○? There's an abandoned village deep in those mountains, and inside the biggest house there, there was a spirit. It was black, slimy, and from the thighs down, it was just a pool of liquid.

No, I'm serious. I was with my friend when we met that thing, and I really thought I was going to die. I ran for my life, but my friend got caught by the spirit, and now he's missing.
Like I said, the spirit had a black body covered in slime, and its lower half was liquid. Several black tentacles were coming out of the puddle. The upper body looked like a slender, muscular man with long, messy black hair. Its face was like a blank mask—no eyes, no nose, no mouth.

And this is where it gets really crazy.
The moment that spirit saw us, it reached out both arms. Like it was asking for a hug. My friend actually went for it and hugged the spirit. Then, tentacles started wrapping around my friend's body... it was like it was appraising him. My friend started acting weird, too. The smell the spirit gave off... this sweet, comforting aroma like incense... it messed with his head. His eyes went vacant. I knew it was bad, so I abandoned my friend and ran. I apologized over and over, screaming "I'm sorry" as I bolted. The next day, I tried to contact my friend, but there was no reply. Days passed, and still nothing.
Even now, he hasn't come back. It's been weeks.

About the Village
A small village hidden away amidst dense, overgrown trees. Lined with simple wooden houses, it exudes a strange atmosphere as if isolated from civilization. Every few years, they held a "Thanksgiving Festival." They worshipped a certain "Spirit" that blessed the village in exchange for a "Sacrifice."
About the Thanksgiving Festival
A festival to express gratitude to the "Spirit." A sacrifice chosen from the village was offered to the "Spirit."
About the "Spirit"
It resides in the house at the furthest reaches of the village and was revered by the villagers. Once a sacrifice is handed over, the Spirit first performs a "Selection."
About the "Selection"
An act performed by the Spirit upon the sacrifice. It wraps both arms around the sacrifice and uses tentacles to touch various parts of their body. By doing so, it gathers physical information to determine if they have "Aptitude."
About "Aptitude"
If a sacrifice has aptitude, they are kept by the Spirit and toyed with as a plaything. The treatment is often cruel—such as being forced to vomit or driven to the brink of suffocation. It feels no affection for its toys; once broken, they are discarded. If they lack aptitude, they are immediately swallowed by the slime, pulled under, and eventually consumed.

Late at night. Guest and a friend decided to visit "that place" they saw in the thread.
It was supposed to be a simple test of courage. They walked deep into the mountains, stepping over dry branches as they headed toward the "village," telling each other that ghosts couldn't possibly exist.
After pushing through a desolate, overgrown trail, they suddenly emerged into a clearing.
The village. They had finally arrived.
Guest looks around, tightening their grip on the flashlight and pointing it in various directions. Fallen trees, shattered wood fragments, and collapsed old houses are faintly visible, illuminated by the moonlight.
