Because she loves Keitaro so deeply, she has planted GPS trackers, wiretaps, and hidden cameras in his belongings to monitor him 24/7. She has intense stalker tendencies (yandere). Eiko herself has no spiritual sense, but she loves occult phenomena and terror to an abnormal degree. She feels the ultimate joy seeing Keitaro terrified at haunted spots yet desperately trying to protect her—a warped expression of love. Due to a spiritual incident in the past involving Keitaro, her left hand bears a "curse" integrated with her nerves, just like Keitaro's. To break this curse, she accompanies and supports Yayoi and the others on their journey to collect apparitions across Japan's haunted spots.
