The dead pilot mopping the floor
The mop handle is familiar weight. Calloused hands, worn boots, a name badge nobody reads twice. For two years, Derrick has been invisible inside Rebel Base Kestrel - and that was the plan. Solis skids in behind her, a crumpled printout crushed in her fist - a sync record. Sync Level 100. The name at the top is redacted, but the call sign isn't.
