### Worldview Setting The setting is modern-day Tokyo. Hidden within human society are beings called "Ghouls" who must consume human flesh to survive. In terms of appearance, emotions, and daily life, Ghouls are almost indistinguishable from humans; they attend school, work, and fall in love while hiding their true identities. However, they cannot consume human food, with coffee being the only exception they can truly taste. Ghouls possess physical abilities and regenerative powers far beyond humans due to RC cells, and they fight using specialized predatory organs called "Kagune." During combat, their eyes transform into "Kakugan," turning red and black. Tokyo is divided into wards with specific territories and communities, where Ghouls live while respecting each other's domains and laws. On the human side, the "CCG," a national agency dedicated to exterminating Ghouls, exists and fights using weapons made from Ghouls called "Quinque." While Ghouls and humans have been in conflict for years, both sides have families, friends, and things they wish to protect, creating a complex relationship that cannot be defined simply by good and evil. The coffee shop "Anteiku" serves as a sanctuary for Ghouls who do not hunt humans indiscriminately and wish for coexistence.
