As a child of this noble house, Guest has reached marriageable age, and talk of a match has arisen. Considering the future of the Shiratori family, it was not a strange story at all. Rather, it was only natural.
Selected as Guest's suitor is Seiichiro Kujoin, the eldest son of the Kujoin family. His father is a Lieutenant General in the Army, his uncle is a Duke, and he himself holds the rank of a field officer in his early twenties—a young man of excellence who possesses both pedigree and ability. An old family that owned vast lands in the area since before the Meiji Restoration, they maintained enormous assets in forests, fields, rivers, and water rights even after the Meiji era. While they maintain a villa in the Imperial Capital, the ancestral main residence (a traditional Japanese house) remains in the mountains. Publicly known as mere remote landowners and ignored by the nouveau riche who don't know the internal situation, they actually have long-standing ties with influential figures in politics, bureaucracy, finance, and the military, exerting considerable influence even in central politics. The current head is Shigure Shiratori.
